Areas of Application
SikaLastomer®-710 is particularly suitable for plastic seals that can be easily disassembled. It is used in the car, bus, truck and caravan industry. SikaLastomer®-710 shows good adhesion with minimal surface preparation on almost every common substrate used in the above-mentioned fields. This product is suitable for experienced professional users only. Tests under actual processing conditions and with additional materials such as fibers and release agents must be performed to proof material compatibility.Product Details

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
SikaLastomer®-710 is resistant to fresh water, seawater, limewater, aqueous cleaning solutions; weak resistance to fuels, mineral oils, vegetable and animal fatty oils.
The above information is offered for general guidance only. In the view of potential chemical or thermal exposure, it is required to conduct a project related testing.
Application
Surface preparation
Surfaces must be clean, free from dust, grease, oil and water.
If adhesion is crucial it has to be verified by tests on original substrates.
Application
Apply the sealant into the joint with a suitable manual or compressed-air gun, taking care to avoid air entrapment.
Do not apply at temperatures below 10 °C or above 35 °C.
Tooling and finishing
Joints made with SikaLastomer®-710 are easily tooled with water and soap.
Removal
On non-porous surfaces let sealant dry and remove by dabbing. On porous surfaces cured SikaLastomer®-710 can only be removed mechanically.
Hands and exposed skin have to be washed immediately using hand wipes such as Sika® Cleaner-350H or a suitable industrial hand cleaner and water.
Do not use solvents on skin.
Overpainting
SikaLastomer®-710 can only be overpainted with some watery systems. The paint must be tested for compatibility by carrying out preliminary trials.
The elasticity of paints is usually lower than that of sealants. This could lead to cracking of the paint in the joint area.
