SikaForce®-300 Primer

Adhesion promoter for SikaForce® plastic repair adhesives

SikaForce®-300 Primer is a solvent-based colorless adhesion promoter. SikaForce®-300 Primer is specifically formulated for the treatment of bond faces prior to the application of SikaForce®-301 and SikaForce®-302 plastic repair adhesives. This primer provides good adhesion without previous activation steps on many substrates.

Areas of Application

SikaForce®-300 Primer is used to improve adhesion on a broad range of different plastic substrates.
Seek manufacturer’s advice and perform tests on original substrates before using SikaForce®-300 Primer on materials prone to stress cracking. This product is suitable for experienced professional users only. Tests with actual substrates and conditions have to be performed ensuring adhesion and material compatibility.

Technical Information

IMPORTANT NOTE

SikaForce®-300 Primer contains solvent which may dull the surface finish of some freshly applied paints. Preliminary trials must be carried out.

Never apply to porous substrates since it may not dry completely and might influence adhesion or the properties of the adhesive.

Protect adjacent surfaces by masking where necessary.
SikaForce®-300 Primer must not be used for tooling/smoothing or as cleaning agent.

Preparation

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease, oil, dust and contaminants.

Application

SikaForce®-300 Primer has to be processed between 15 °C and 30 °C (product, ambient, and substrate temperature).

SikaForce®-300 Primer has to be applied in a thin and even coat to the surface in short bursts to avoid dripping or running of the primer.
If pre-treated area is not bonded within the maximum flash-off time, the pre-treatment process has to be repeated (once only).
Consumption and method of application depends on the specific nature of the substrates.
