Sikafloor® Marine Primer C
Pigmented, water-based primer for interior shop primed steel and mortar applications
Sikafloor® Marine Primer C is a water-based white primer, which forms a thin layer when the water is evaporated. This layer acts as a link between the two substrates. Sikafloor® Marine Primer C is specifically formulated for the treatment of bond faces prior to the application of cementitious Sikafloor® Marine products.

Application
METHOD OF APPLICATION
Preparation
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from grease, oil, dust and contaminants.
On welded seems and on worn areas (high traffic areas) the shop primer is often missing. In such cases the area has to be refurbished. Clean with a grinder or steel brush and prepare the surface according to the shop primer manufacturer instructions. Re-apply the shop primer following the appropriate process.
Application
Shake the Sikafloor® Marine Primer C can very thoroughly and apply a thin but covering coat with a long hair roller.
For application on aluminum or zinc rich shop primed decks a tie coat of SikaCor® ZP Primer or another suitable tie coat is required prior to priming process with Sikafloor® Marine Primer C.
On porous substrates it is required to apply the primer in two steps: In the first step Sikafloor® Marine Primer C is diluted with 20 % of tap water prior the first application. Second step after the primer has turned from white/bluish to transparent, apply the Sikafloor® Marine Primer C without dilution. When Sikafloor® Marine Primer C changes its color from white/bluish to transparent the surface is ready for the mortar application. Consider that the primer remains a little bit tacky also after turning to transparent.
Ideal application and surface temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C.
Consumption and method of application depend on the specific nature of the substrates. Tightly reseal container immediately after each use.
